‘You Raise Me Up’ is een lied dat ons keer op keer in onze harten raakt. Of het nu een hele kleine uitvoering is, met enkel pianobegeleiding, of juist een hele grootse uitvoering.
Deze week blikken we met Weemoed-woensdag terug op de bijzondere uitvoering van de Amerikaanse Daniël Rodriguez, tijdens de Nederland Zingt opname in Haarlem, 2007. Samen met een koor en orkest begint hij ‘You Raise Me Up’ heel klein en verstilt, maar bouwt dat prachtig op naar een groots en indrukwekkend muziekstuk.
